The winery Hieronimi was founded in 1843 - Back in those days founder Johannes Hieronimi was cultivating his winyards and maintainded also a destillery.

In 1859 his two sons took over the business under the name "Gebrüder Hieronimi".

In January 1864 Wilhelm Hieronimi took over the winery. He started as a wine trader and delivered his wines in the region.

From1876 to 1898 his sons entered the business. They increased their winyards, started with the production of sparkled wine and increased the marketing area to the north of Germany and Berlin.

At the time the next generation entered the business, the company was changed into a stock holders cooperation. Winery Hieronimi started to sell wines all over Germany. After overcoming the difficult times during and after world war II, in 1955 a new cellar was built. By the end of the 50th the production of sparkled wines had a important role in the production of the winery . The company was developing into one of the leading wineries at the Moselle.

On January 1st of 1963 Hans-Helmut Hieronimi -a grand-grandson of the founder- took over. During the 60th, 70th and 80th a wide selection of wines from Moselle and Rhine, as well as champagnes, sparkled wine and other wine containing products, were delivered to all over Germany as well as to other countries of the EC, like Netherlands, Great Britain and Skandinavia, and overseas (U.S.A., Japan).

By the end of the 90th the whole wine production and maketing at the Moselle river was undergoing a deep stuctural change.

January 1st 1999 the H.H.Hieronimi GmbH was taken over by his three children.

Weinkellerei Hieronimi retired from the wholesale trading of wines an now concentrates on individual Moselle Wine Specialities, mostly the Riesling Specialities from the slopes, that are dificult to find outside Moselle valley.
